For Student Financial Aid purposes, students are registered into a four month semester. Students need to take a minimum of three, three-credit courses per four-month semester. Your Financial Aid Advisor will register you into your courses.
To qualify for full-time status at the graduate studies level, students must be registered in a minimum of a 60 percent course load (.75 credits per month). This is one 4 month grouped study course per 4 month semester OR two 6 month individualized study courses per 4 month semester.
One 6 month graduate course is considered part time.

Alberta Funded students must be enrolled in a program at Athabasca University or attending on a letter of permission to be eligible for funding.
The letter of permission must include your program/degree and the faculty/division the program is considered to be in.

Your provincial part time funding application must be completed and submitted to your funding agency in addition to completing this form.
If you have not yet completed your provincial part time funding application form, please remember to do so as soon as you have completed filling out this form.
